Santa Monica is Blooming: Your Spring Guide to the Best Farmers Markets

Spring has arrived in Santa Monica, and there is no better way to feel it than strolling through one of the most celebrated farmers markets in the country. With four weekly markets running on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the Downtown, Main Street, and Pico neighborhoods, this community has a living, breathing connection to the land that most cities can only dream of.

This spring, the markets are bursting with the season's finest — from sweet, tender greens like kale, collards, arugula, and Swiss chard, to fragrant fresh herbs like dill, cilantro, and mint that are extraordinary after the winter rains. Local ranches like AZ Ranch are even showcasing green lavender, a true sign that Santa Monica's agricultural community is as inventive as it is passionate.

Beyond the produce, the markets are alive with community events throughout March and into April. The Main Street Sunday market has featured author talks, live music, kids' obstacle courses, and local pop-ups. The Pico Saturday market hosts family-friendly entertainment with musicians, soccer skills clinics, and Spring Equinox celebrations on March 29 complete with a DJ and live band.

As a luxury real estate professional rooted in this community, I often tell my clients that a neighborhood's farmers market tells you everything you need to know about its soul. Santa Monica's markets reflect a community that values quality, connection, and the finest in coastal California living — and that same energy defines the homes here.

Whether you are a longtime resident or considering making Santa Monica your home, I invite you to experience this community first-hand. Walk the market. Taste the season. And when you are ready to find your place in it, I am here to guide you.
